Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, small power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, quick star!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from star is defended easily by power.
power displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like quick star has been cut.
power goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
power rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but star moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
power throws a front kick that sends star stumbling back into the ropes.
star shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as power sprawls well. power wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. star gets slowly back to his feet.
power throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
power will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
star shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. power is trying to defend but star finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
star prevents power from standing back up.
star escapes and gets back to his feet.

star tries to score a power double leg takedown but power sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten star somewhat.

A head kick from star lands but power takes it in his stride.

power throws a head kick but star moves out of range.
star darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
power has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. star is working away from the top position though.
star prevents power from standing back up.
power kicks off star and gets to his feet.

power doesn't manage to clinch there - star circles away.
star throws a nice inside leg kick.
star moves out of range as power throws a body kick.

power tries to close the distance and clinch up but star swats him away and circles back towards the center.
power drives through and clinches with star against the ropes.
star is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
star has power pressed against the ropes, preventing power from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
power breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
power throws a body punch but star moves out of range.

and star counters with a three punch combo that has power backing up. power nods at star to acknowledge the strikes.

power is trying to get back to his feet.
star is looking to take a break and control but power is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
power wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

You can see the frustration on power's face as star controls the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
star wants to lay and pray for a moment but power keeps working.
power is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but star has just dragged him back down to the mat.
star trying to control the position but power is working away.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
power fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but star avoids it really well and circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
star shoots in for a takedown but power shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
power attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that small power will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

power turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

power is trying to control the action in half guard but star is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
power winds up and cracks star with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
power escapes and gets back to his feet.

and power counters with a left and a right that stings star.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

power looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
star moves into the clinch.
power wants to break the clinch but can't.
power tightens his grip and picks star up, before dumping him to the ground. star manages to land in guard.
star looking to hit a scissor sweep but power is one step ahead there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as power accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
power decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on star, up you get!

and star counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for power!
power gets back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
star lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

star wants to free his trapped foot but power is holding on for dear life with his legs.
power looks like he's trying to stand up.
power trying to control here.
power is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
power is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

power sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
