Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Red looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Red!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Rua!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Red looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rua shoots in for a takedown but Red shows good takedown defense.
Rua throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Kevin Red has been cut.
Rua scores with a kick to the body.
Rua lands with a nice body punch.
Rua doesn't manage to clinch there - Red circles away.
Red swats away the attempt to clinch by Rua.
Rua fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rua shoots in for a takedown but Red shows good takedown defense.
Rua is trying hard to land a takedown here. Red sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kevin Red has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Rua.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rua tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Red is able to avoid easily.

Red wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Red breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Rua rushes Red and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rua keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Red's efforts to push away.
Red wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Red lands a nice knee to the body.
Rua is working for takedown but Red is calmly controlling the position for now.
Red gets underhooks to prevent Rua's takedown attempt.
Red lands a nice shot to the body.
Red wants to get back to striking at distance but Rua won't allow it.

Red is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rua is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Red postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Red decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rua, up you get!

and Red counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Red wants to clinch

and Rua counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rua.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rua manages to break the clinch.

Rua rushes Red and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Red has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rua clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Red doesn't have the hooks in and Rua manages to turn into his guard.
Rua slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rua lands some shots froms side control.

Rua tries to move to mount but Red blocks the move with his legs.

Rua decides to stand back up. Rua steps back and let's Red get back to his feet.
Red lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

so Rua counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Red is trying to control the position but Rua postures up.
Red keeping moving, preventing Rua from controlling successfully.

Rua looking to sit in guard and control but Red gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Red trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rua's guard.
