Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Lafever (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Son comes to the cage accompanied by I WILL BE HEARD. Daniel Son could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Danny Lafever's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Son!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danny Lafever!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Son looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lafever wants to slow Son down by chopping away at his legs.
Lafever throws a leg kick but Son sees it coming and moves out of range.
Lafever misses with a body kick.
Lafever tries to land a front kick but Son steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Lafever looks to land a body kick but Son moved away.

Son fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lafever sprawls well initially but Son persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lafever is positioning himself well to prevent Son advancing to mount.
Lafever is trying to stand.
Son is thwarting Lafever's attempts to control the position.
Son thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lafever's head.
Son not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Son stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lafever swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lafever is looking to stand up but Son isn't so interested in that idea.

Lafever avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lafever looks for the body kick but Son saw that one coming.
Lafever uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Son.
Lafever moves in looking to clinch but Son pushes him off.
Lafever throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Lafever wants to land a leg kick but Son is out of range.

Son closes the distance and clinches up with Lafever, looking for a takedown. Son pushes Lafever against the cage but Lafever circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lafever misses with a kick to the body.
Lafever defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Son.

Lafever throws a leg kick but Son sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Son will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Son looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Son will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lafever tries a head kick but it misses.
Son throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lafever's waist but Lafever gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Son off to one side.
Lafever fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Son looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Lafever doesn't manage to clinch there - Son circles away.
Son has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lafever finds it's way round the side to connect with Son's head.
Lafever is looking to chop away at Son's legs.
Lafever moves in looking to clinch but Son pushes him off.

Lafever throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Lafever keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lafever leaves Son with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Son shoots in looking for a takedown. Lafever tries to sprawl out of it but Son keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lafever manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Horrible takedown by Son or perhaps it was just good defense by Lafever which made him look bad.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Son changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lafever tries to avoid it but Son manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lafever to the ground. Lafever escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Lafever showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Son shoots in and drives through. Lafever sprawls well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lafever throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Son shoots in looking for a takedown. Lafever tries to sprawl out of it but Son keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lafever manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lafever looks to throw the jab but Son is out of range.

Danny Lafever comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lafever has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
