Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DMX (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward has chosen Converge - No Heroes as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
pulls Ward into guard.
Ward would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ward puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward wants to stand up but is controlling the position.

Ward seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ward is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for .

Ward tries to stand but is controlling his head.
tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ward wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

That's time! 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ward misses the jab.
Ward lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ward darts in trying to clinch
and decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ward's guard.
pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ward is keeping the position for now.
drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ward manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now has Ward in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
has an active guard here but Ward has managed to pass into half guard.

not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ward wants to get up but he can't break 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
wants to sweep here but Ward controlling him for the moment.
is looking to sweep but instead, Ward has passed into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
trying to control but Ward postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
clinches up against the cage.
blocking some punches.
Ward is trying to break the clinch but is controlling him.
wants the takedown. Ward is fighting it off but persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Ward's guard against the cage.
stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ward swivels though and keeps the full guard.
trying to control the position from guard on top but Ward is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
is pushing down on Ward's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ward is fighting to maintain full guard but has managed to sneak the leg through.
tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ward knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Ward as he works his way to full guard.

trying to control but Ward is working from the bottom.

drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ward looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ward looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ward!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

is trying to move to mount but Ward reverses beautifully and ends up in 's guard.

bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ward's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
tries to free his leg and advance position but Ward is retaining full guard.
DMX is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
is looking to pass into half guard but Ward pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Ward is in guard.
has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that's the end of the fight!
DMX showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
