Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Russel Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brett Yarris!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yarris scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Yarris misses with a straight right.
Bell avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Yarris throws a big shot that misses.
A punch combination from Yarris misses.

Bell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Yarris moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Bell trying to control the position from guard on top but Yarris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yarris wants to sweep here but Bell controlling him for the moment.

Yarris is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bell prevents Yarris from getting back to his feet.
Bell wants to pass the guard but Yarris is keeping the position.

Yarris trying to keep a closed guard but Bell is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bell tries to free his leg and advance position but Yarris is retaining full guard.
Bell wants to control from the top but Yarris keeps moving.

Bell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bell is breathing heavily.
Bell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yarris sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bell is defended easily by Yarris.
Yarris scores with a crisp jab that stopped Bell in his tracks.

Yarris thows a body shot but no joy.
Yarris misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bell.
Bell shoots for a double leg takedown but Yarris sprawls well. He's pushed Bell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Russel Bell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yarris drops Bell with a naaaaasty hook - Bell is in real trouble here! Yarris dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
