Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Check Mong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hannibal Lecter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mong kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I aint never scared. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Check Mong! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hannibal Lecter! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lecter throws a head kick that misses. Lecter defending well as Mong loads up on a big left hand. Lecter throws a nice head kick!
Mong shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lecter's guard. Mong working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mong prevents Lecter from getting back to his feet. Mong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mong misses with a straight right. Mong drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mong with a flurry of punches that miss. Mong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lecter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lecter keeping full guard, as Mong tries to pass. Mong working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mong looking to pass the guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lecter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mong shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lecter is trying to defend but Mong finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Ground and pound from Mong. Lecter pushes Mong off looking to stand but Mong dives back in and keeps control.
Mong takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Lecter is staying active underneath Mong, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mong wants to free his trapped foot but Lecter is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mong lands strikes from half guard. Mong tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lecter knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Mong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Lecter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Mong sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lecter defending well though. Mong thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mong working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Mong wants to take a breather but Lecter is having none of it. Lecter won't allow Mong to pass to mount.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mong is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lecter sees it coming and defends easily. Mong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lecter's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Check Mong dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Lecter throws a wild body kick that Mong sees coming a mile off. Mong gets in close and instigates a clinch. Mong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lecter walks into a stiff left hand from Mong.
It looks like Hannibal Lecter has been cut. Mong avoids a kick to the body.
Mong closes the distance and clinches. Lecter prevents the takedown attempt.

Mong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Danga de danga de dang - Mong scores with a four punch combination! Mong fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lecter sprawls well initially but Mong persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mong tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lecter knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Lecter looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mong is pressing down on Lecter's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lecter is holding on for now. Mong throwing shots but Lecter is blocking nicely.

Mong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Mong is keen to just control but Lecter is a slippery customer. Check Mong overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mong is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lecter has managed to free his arm - good work. Mong looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lecter wants to get back to his feet. Well, if Mong is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lecter as he avoids it easily. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Lecter circles away from the clinch attempt.

Check Mong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lecter looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Lecter takes a jab right on the kisser.
Lecter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mong. Mong will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Mong moves out of range as Lecter throws a body kick.
Mong jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mong fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lecter on the side of the head. Lecter drives through and clinches with Mong against the cage.
Mong lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lecter or not. Mong keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lecter's efforts to push away. Mong has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Lecter is trying to keep an underhook but Mong manages to get the takedown into half guard. Mong looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Mong passes to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Mong are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Mong throws an elbow but Lecter slips to the side and avoids it well. Lecter takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mong working the body and head with strikes. Lecter managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Mong.

Mong throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lecter was covering up waiting for the punch and Mong finishes the takedown easily into guard. Mong working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mong advances to half guard. Mong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lecter keeps working. Lecter won't allow Mong to pass to mount. Lecter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mong throws a strike but Lecter avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mong accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mong with a flurry of punches that miss. Mong throwing strikes but missing.

Mong slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lecter defending against the ground and pound. Mong creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

He has the arm isolated but Lecter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mong tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Mong fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Mong is trying to ground and pound but Lecter uses the momentary lack of control by Mong to regain half guard. Mong trying to pass the guard but Lecter defending well. Mong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mong throws a strike aimed at the side of Lecter's head but Lecter avoids it well. Mong goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lecter rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mong's guard! Nice work there by Lecter! Lecter content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Lecter wants to control from the top but Mong keeps moving. Mong looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lecter postures up.

Mong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lecter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mong somewhat. Lecter throws a body punch but Mong moves out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Lecter looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mong darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Mong takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Lecter pushes Mong off looking to stand but Mong dives back in and keeps control.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Mong thows a huge punch but Lecter dodges it nicely.

Lecter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mong has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lecter has managed to get both his arms back between Mong's legs - danger averted. Mong wants to sweep here but Lecter controlling him for the moment.

Lecter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lecter postures up in Mong's guard and throws a big left but Mong blocks it. Mong working for a triangle but Lecter defends it easily.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lecter throws a front kick that sends Mong stumbling back into the cage. Lecter throws a push kick but Mong slaps the foot to one side. Mong shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mong was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Mong thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mong looking to control but Lecter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mong is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Lecter has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Lecter! Lecter trying to control the position from guard on top but Mong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lecter postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lecter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mong works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Check Mong is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mong trying to keep a closed guard but Lecter is proving a slippery customer.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hannibal Lecter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mong is taking a breather. Lecter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Mong has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Check Mong showed his dominance in that final round. Well Mong has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
