Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matt Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler Nelson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Serra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Serra was covering up waiting for the punch and Nelson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Nelson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Serra is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Serra has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Serra would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Nelson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Serra is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nelson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Serra's back instead.
Serra knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nelson on the ground.

Well, with Nelson on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Serra is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Nelson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Serra turns into him and now he's in Nelson's guard.

Nelson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Nelson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Serra is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler Nelson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Serra wants to stand and escape but Nelson is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Serra got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nelson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Serra has managed to get both his arms back between Nelson's legs - danger averted.

Nelson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Serra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nelson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Serra defends well.

Serra is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nelson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well Nelson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
