The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powkaneski fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gravano closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gravano lands in his opponent's guard.

Powkaneski had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gravano is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Powkaneski Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gravano's back instead.
Powkaneski is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Powkaneski gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Powkaneski gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Powkaneski apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Powkaneski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gravano swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gravano shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
It looks like Sammy Gravano has been cut.
Powkaneski throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Powkaneski tries for a takedown but Gravano circles away easily
and Gravano decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Powkaneski's guard.
Gravano is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Powkaneski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gravano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
