PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Dungy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Payne has chosen Luniz - I Got 5 On It as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dungy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dungy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Payne has his takedown stuffed

and Dungy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Payne wants to stand and escape but Dungy is having none of it.
Dungy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Payne is keeping the position for now.

Dungy is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Payne can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Dungy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dungy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Payne is just riding it out for now. Dungy eventually gives up the hold.
Payne is looking to control Dungy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Payne avoid being mounted?

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Andre Payne has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Dungy is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Payne looks calm but he's in trouble here. Dungy gets his head over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Payne is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Dungy lets go of the hold and Payne can pop his arm back in it's socket.
