Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tony Scarpone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dennis Reynolds has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Scarpone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Reynolds! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scarpone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reynolds's waist but Reynolds gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Scarpone off to one side. Reynolds smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
It looks like Tony Scarpone has been cut. Reynolds tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Reynolds stuffs the takedown. Scarpone blocks a head kick by Reynolds.
Reynolds throws a leg kick which misses Scarpone's front leg but catches the back leg as Scarpone tries to avoid it. Reynolds shoots in and bounces Scarpone off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Reynolds wants to control from the top but Scarpone keeps moving. Scarpone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Reynolds can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Scarpone will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Scarpone is looking for a triangle but Reynolds pushes his legs off easily.
Reynolds trying to control but Scarpone is working from the bottom. Scarpone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
This has been an exciting period of action! Scarpone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reynolds wants to control from the top but Scarpone keeps moving. Reynolds thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Scarpone utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Reynolds must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Scarpone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reynolds gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Scarpone has his foot on Reynolds's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reynolds works his way back into a safe position though. Scarpone is breathing heavily. Reynolds throwing strikes but missing. Reynolds has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Scarpone to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Reynolds is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Scarpone pulls down on the head and he's put Reynolds to sleep! This one is all over!
