Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kingo Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Slapper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slapper is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dr. Worm. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kingo Kongo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Billy Slapper! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kongo tries to clinch up. Kingo Kongo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kongo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Slapper moves out of range of the body kick from Kongo.
Kongo drops Slapper with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Slapper looks back up at him and smiles so Kongo waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Slapper is rocked!
It looks like Billy Slapper has been cut. Kongo throws a sloppy head kick and Slapper moves out of range easily. Slapper is still on wobbly legs! Can Kongo finish him? Slapper drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Slapper seems to have recovered his senses. Slapper passes into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Slapper is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kongo sees it coming and defends easily. Slapper is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slapper is trying to work for a kimura but Kongo is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slapper is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kongo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slapper is working away from the top position though. Slapper is working for a submission of some sort.
Slapper wants to pass the guard but Kongo is defending well. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Slapper in particular looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kongo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Slapper is looking to advance position but Kongo won't allow it. Slapper throwing shots but Kongo is blocking nicely. Kongo on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Slapper is keen to just control but Kongo is a slippery customer. Slapper not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Slapper prevents Kongo from improving his position. Slapper perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Kongo wants to control but Slapper is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slapper working Kongo over with strikes. Slapper is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Slapper trying to mount his opponent but Kongo defends it. Slapper drops an elbow to the side of Kongo's head. Slapper winds up and cracks Kongo with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Slapper is pressing down on Kongo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kongo is holding on for now. Slapper moves nicely into side control. Slapper working the head with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kongo takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Slapper looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Slapper has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Slapper works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Slapper is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kongo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Slapper tries to score with some ground and pound. Kongo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Slapper trying to control the position but Kongo is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Slapper dominated that round. The cut man is working on Billy Slapper's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kongo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Slapper. Kongo is looking to clinch. Kongo gets a clinch. Kongo lands an elbow inside that Slapper shrugs off. Kongo with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Slapper misses with some punches.
Kongo creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Slapper's defenses. Slapper doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Slapper jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kongo walks away with a smile on his face. Slapper gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slapper keeps the fight on the outside. Slapper scores with a punch to the head. Slapper doesn't manage to clinch there - Kongo circles away.
Kongo throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kongo wants to clinch and Slapper connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Slapper misses with a double jab.
Kongo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Slapper swats him away and circles back towards the center. An inside leg kick from Kongo misses. Slapper takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Kongo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kongo closes the distance looking to clinch and Slapper counters with a takedown into side control. Slapper trying to control the position but Kongo is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slapper scoring with punches from side control. Slapper is looking to take a break and control but Kongo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kongo is looking for a sweep. Slapper trying to control the position but Kongo is working away. Slapper tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Slapper has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Slapper is looking to take a break and control but Kongo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slapper thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Slapper misses with the ground and pound. Slapper grinds an elbow into Kongo's temple. Slapper working the body and head with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kongo is looking for a sweep. Slapper tries for a kimura but Kongo is defending well. Slapper has hold of Kongo's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kongo tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Slapper cranks the arm and Kongo screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kongo, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Billy Slapper!
