Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergey Vassiliev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Haysmith! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vassiliev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vassiliev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Haysmith wants to hold on but Vassiliev pushes him away. Haysmith really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Haysmith is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Vassiliev cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Vassiliev blocks Haysmith's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Vassiliev sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Haysmith is working to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Haysmith is just holding on here. Vassiliev manages to take his back.
Vassiliev controlling from the back. Haysmith trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Vassiliev has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Haysmith. Vassiliev controlling the position well here. Haysmith rolled but Vassiliev kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Haysmith has hold of Vassiliev's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts. Vassiliev biding his time, looking for the opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haysmith is trying to get back to his feet but Vassiliev has full control of the position and if anything, Haysmith has just worked his way into a worse spot. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. I would not like to be Haysmith right now.
Vassiliev's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Vassiliev wants to control but Haysmith manages to buck him off and is now in Vassiliev's guard! Nice work there by Haysmith! Vassiliev manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Haysmith manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Haysmith wants to hit a switch here but Vassiliev passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Haysmith there! Haysmith is in all sorts of trouble here.
Haysmith looks gassed! Vassiliev looking to control and managing it successfully. Haysmith wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Vassiliev content just to control the position here. Haysmith is trying to escape the mount.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sergey Vassiliev just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Vassiliev drives through with a takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Haysmith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Vassiliev counters with a nice uppercut. Vassiliev fails with the takedown. Vassiliev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vassiliev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Vassiliev manages to capitalize on a mistake by Haysmith to take his back! Haysmith tries to roll but Vassiliev sticks to his back.
Haysmith is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Sergey Vassiliev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vassiliev trying to control momentarily.
Vassiliev controls the position. Haysmith looking very determined here, making life difficult for Vassiliev.
Haysmith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vassiliev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haysmith trying to control but not successfully. Vassiliev has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Haysmith looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Haysmith is in bad spot here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vassiliev biding his time, looking for the opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haysmith is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Vassiliev working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Haysmith is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Vassiliev has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Haysmith taps out!
