The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Deeneero feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Deeneero prevents Cavalcante from getting back to his feet.
Deeneero stands and throws Cavalcante's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Deeneero could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Deeneero tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Deeneero has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Deeneero is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cavalcante knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Deeneero is really struggling to control Cavalcante but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Deeneero tries for a kimura but Cavalcante is defending well.
Cavalcante tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Deeneero presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Deeneero is looking to sinch up a triangle. Cavalcante throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Deeneero's body to avoid the submission. Deeneero has instead reached around Cavalcante's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Deeneero arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
