The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Velasquez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Perry pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Velasquez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Dwayne Perry has been cut.
Perry connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Perry looks to land a left hand but Velasquez moved out of range nicely.
Velasquez thows a left - swing and a miss!

Perry connects with a good right hand that stumbles Velasquez. Velasquez circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Perry swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Velasquez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Velasquez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Velasquez lands a big head kick that sends Perry to the canvas! Velasquez follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
