Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dante Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dante Kai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A punch combination from Kai misses.
Kai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Simpson swivels and escapes.
Kai shoots in and drives through. Simpson sprawls well.
Kai tries to clinch there but Simpson circles away.

Kai tries for a takedown but Simpson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kai jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Simpson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Simpson and Kai has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Simpson is controlling an arm, preventing Kai from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Simpson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kai is now in Simpson's guard. A big mistake from Simpson there, giving up the dominant position!
Kai tries to free his leg and advance position but Simpson is retaining full guard.
Simpson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Simpson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kai drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Simpson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kai has Simpson in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Simpson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Simpson scores with a jab to the head.
Kai smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Simpson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kai buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kai circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Simpson drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Kai follows Simpson to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
