Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Dante! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Say Nara! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dante is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nara sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Dante feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nara can do anything to dispel that myth. Dante throwing strikes but missing. Dante won't allow Nara to get back to his feet. Nara is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Nara is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Nara holds on and takes a little breather. Dante passes Nara's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Dante is looking to advance position but Nara won't allow it. Dante wants to take a breather but Nara is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dante sitting and controlling from the half guard. Nara is looking to improve his position.
Dante is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Dante looks to land a strike but Nara avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Dante advances position into side control! Nara tries to bench press Dante off him but Dante keeps the position. Nara trying to remain calm as Dante controls from the top position. Nara is trying to control Dante's posture but Dante avoids it. Nara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dante. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dante is looking to take a break and control but Nara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nara is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Dante is breathing heavily. Nara is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Dante missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Nara is trying to stand back up but Dante is controlling him
Nara tries to roll over but Dante keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nara is defending against the submission attempts here by Dante.
Dante wants to take a breather but Nara is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nara pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Nara misses with a looping left. Dante uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nara. Nara digs a good hook to Dante's body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A shot to de liver by Nara. Beautiful body shot. Nara misses the shot to the body. Nara throws out a powerful jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dante defending well as Nara loads up on a big left hand. Nara misses with a series of wild punches.
Nara misses with a hook. Dante ducked under it nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Say Nara dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nara is looking to score with low kicks. Nara throws a hook to the side of Dante's head but Dante sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Dante moves away from the strike by Nara. Tony Dante is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dante shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nara as he jumps to the side. Nara throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nara lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dante has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dante and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. No joy there for Nara, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dante changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nara looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dante is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nara knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Dante misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Nara is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Nara is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Dante fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nara is not content to let Dante control the position. Dante working away. Nara is trying to buck Dante off. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dante has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Dante. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nara throws a right hand that Dante ducks under and follows up with a left that Dante also avoids with ease. Say Nara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nara throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nara looks to throw the jab but Dante is out of range. Nara looks to score with a jab to the body but Dante is just out of range. Some wild striking there from Nara.
Nara thows a body shot but no joy. Nara fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nara does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. A punch combination from Nara misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Tony Dante will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Dante takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Dante avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Nara takes a swing at Dante's ribcage but misses. Nara misses with a looping right. Some wild striking there from Nara.

Dante shoots in but no luck this time. Nara misses with a hook. Nara lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Nara looks to land a left hand but Dante moved out of range nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Say Nara comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Nara has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
