Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie Ray Samson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes into the arena with Tha King blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thiago Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stevie Ray Samson! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves tries to clinch there but Samson circles away.
Stevie Ray Samson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alves tries to clinch but Samson is having none of it. Samson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Alves! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Samson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Samson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alves wants to hold on but Samson pushes him away. Alves is wriggling around trying to escape.
Samson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Alves tries to reverse the position but Samson maintains control. Samson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Alves is looking to improve his position but Samson isn't that keen on the idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves wants to control but Samson is having none of it. Samson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Alves turns into him and now he's in Samson's guard.
Alves drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Samson dives on top into guard. Samson is pushing down on Alves's leg trying to pass to half guard. Alves is fighting to maintain full guard but Samson has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samson wants to take a breather but Alves is having none of it. Alves gets back to full guard.
Samson looks gassed! Samson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Alves has locked up a guillotine! Alves's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Samson is holding on here and Alves must be using up a lot of energy. Samson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Alves gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
