Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Deer was covering up waiting for the punch and Wilson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wilson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Wilson throws a big right hand that misses.
Wilson lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Deer wants to get back to his feet but Wilson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Deer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wilson as he avoids it easily.
Wilson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Deer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Wilson postures up in Deer's guard and throws a big left but Deer blocks it.

Wilson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Wilson is looking to work some ground and pound but Deer has wrist control.

Deer wants to stand and escape but Wilson is having none of it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Deer lands a head kick that stumbles Wilson and the fighters go to the mat.
It looks like John Wilson has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Deer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wilson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wilson has escaped and now he's on top!
Deer pushes Wilson off and scrambles back to his feet.
John Deer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wilson is breathing heavily.
Wilson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Deer makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Wilson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Deer as he jumps to the side.
Wilson dodges the punch combination from Deer.
Deer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Deer throws a right hand that Wilson ducks under and follows up with a left that Wilson also avoids with ease.
Wilson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wilson lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Deer has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Wilson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Deer will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Deer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wilson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Deer.
Wilson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Deer takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wilson prevents Deer from escaping the position.
Wilson cracks Deer with a big right hand but Deer just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Wilson throwing strikes but Deer manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Deer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wilson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Deer is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wilson sees it coming and defends easily.
Wilson manages to get to full guard.
Deer is sitting in close to Wilson's body. Wilson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Deer is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Deer is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Wilson.
