Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherk has chosen Fill the Bite as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Sherk!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Sherk.
Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sherk.
Sherk misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jones stalks Sherk and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sherk's face. Sherk staggers backwards, shaken.
Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sherk.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fighters circling - Sherk throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Oooh a lovely combination from Jones sends Sherk down but not out. Jones dives into side control looking to finish.


It looks like Sean Sherk has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sherk tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.

Sherk stops Jones from passing to mount.
Jones tries to stand but Sherk is controlling his head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
You can see the frustration on Sherk's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sherk gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sherk shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sherk is trying desperately to land a takedown but Jones is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Sherk.

Sherk closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
