Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Houston Sprewell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aliksandr Kowaljow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kowaljow comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Moskau kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aliksandr Kowaljow!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowaljow clobbers Sprewell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Sprewell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kowaljow to the mat! Kowaljow manages to get full guard.
Sprewell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sprewell prevents Kowaljow from getting back to his feet.
Kowaljow really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sprewell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sprewell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kowaljow is keeping the position for now.
Sprewell stays in close to Kowaljow's body and controls the position.
Kowaljow is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Sprewell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Sprewell pushes down on Kowaljow's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Sprewell is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kowaljow doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sprewell.
Kowaljow wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sprewell in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kowaljow tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Sprewell!
