Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Crump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hempii Sapponen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Crump! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hempii Sapponen! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crump leaves Sapponen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sapponen throws a head kick that misses. Sapponen tries for a takedown but Crump sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sapponen shoots in looking for a takedown. Crump tries to sprawl out of it but Sapponen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Crump manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jason Crump has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hempii Sapponen. Sapponen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Crump sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sapponen somewhat. Crump defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sapponen. Crump tries to land a leg kick but Sapponen saw it coming and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sapponen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Crump as he jumps to the side. Crump misses with a hook. Sapponen ducked under it nicely. Sapponen misses with a takedown attempt - Crump sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Crump lands with a thumping leg kick.
Sapponen looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Crump throws a half hearted mid kick. Sapponen scores a takedown into full mount! Sapponen can't control as he wanted to and Crump manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Crump is pressing down on Sapponen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Crump is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sapponen is aware though and is defending well. Crump keeping full guard, as Sapponen tries to pass. Sapponen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Crump is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sapponen is aware though and is defending well. Crump working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sapponen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sapponen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sapponen trying to control but Crump is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crump manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sapponen is wriggling around trying to escape.
Crump jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sapponen manages to avoid the submission attempt. Crump working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sapponen is looking to regain half guard here but Crump keeps moving and retains side control. Crump has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Sapponen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sapponen lands in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapponen wants to control from the top but Crump keeps moving. Sapponen stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Crump has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Sapponen manages to get his head free but now Crump has transitioned to an armbar! Sapponen grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Crump! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
