Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Pelmeni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and tommy gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pelmeni comes to the cage accompanied by Hell March. tommy gunn told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gunn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pelmeni tries to clinch but gunn moves out of range.
Pelmeni tries to clinch but gunn is having none of it.
gunn will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
gunn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Pelmeni is trying to stand back up but gunn is controlling him
gunn is trying to work for a kimura but Pelmeni is defending well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Pelmeni trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

gunn works his way into side control.
gunn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no gunn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Pelmeni is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
You can see the frustration on Pelmeni's face as gunn controls the position.
Pelmeni is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but gunn has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Pelmeni is looking to work his way out of this bad position but gunn is controlling him well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
gunn has an Americana. Pelmeni didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! gunn is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if gunn hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). tommy gunn!
