Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Henrik Hurja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonathan Li will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Li missing with knees to the body.
Li tries to land knees in the clinch but Hurja avoids the damage to the body.
Li scores with a knee to the head.
Hurja misses with an elbow strike.
Hurja wants to get back to striking at distance but Li won't allow it.
Knees in the clinch landing for Li.
Li tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hurja smiles and moves away.
Hurja stuffs the takedown attempt from Li. Li gets slowly back to his feet.
Li looks to clinch
and Hurja counters with a slapping leg kick.

Hurja fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A low kick from Hurja misses
and Li counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Li stalling in the clinch.
Li wants to get back to striking at distance but Hurja won't allow it.
Hurja breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jonathan Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hurja will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Li tries to clinch but Hurja moves away
and Hurja holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hurja lands an elbow inside.
Hurja is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Hurja's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hurja has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Li is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Li counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hurja thows a huge punch but Li dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hurja wants to pass the guard but Li is defending well.
Li wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Henrik Hurja will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Hurja counters with a shoot takedown. Li fights it but they end up in guard.
Li wants to stand but Hurja is controlling the position.

Li wants to stand up but Hurja is controlling him.
Hurja drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Li dives on top into guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Li is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Hurja wants to control but Li passes easily into half guard.

Li avoids the attempt from Hurja to control.
Hurja chipping away with body shots but they're not going to hurt Li.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hurja can't escape the position.
Li looking to control but Hurja is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hurja slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Hurja is trying to maintain the position but Li is very close to passing his half guard.
Hurja gets back to full guard.
Hurja wants to sweep here but Li controlling him for the moment.

Li avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hurja lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Li has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Li and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Li really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hurja. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hurja wants to work for an arm triangle but Li is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hurja is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Li has one foot on Hurja's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Li misses with a takedown
and Hurja counters with a nice kick to the body.
Li keeps the fight on the outside.

and Hurja counters with a thumping low kick.
Li tries to clinch
and Hurja counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Li's guard now.
Hurja tries to free his leg and advance position but Li is retaining full guard.
Hurja is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hurja drops back, looking for a kneebar! Li looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Li looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Li!
Hurja wants to control but Li postures up.
Hurja tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Li easily slips into full mount!
Hurja wants to hold on but Li pushes him away.
Hurja tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Hurja is controlling Li's trapped leg to prevent Li from advancing to side control.
Li blocks the strikes from Hurja.
Li prevents Hurja from improving his position.
Hurja slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Hurja lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Li!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hurja goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Li is on top in guard.
Hurja had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Li is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hurja Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Li's back instead.
