The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson wants to clinch up but Echberg keeps it at a distance. Jackson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Jackson fails in his attempt to clinch. Jackson shoots in and drives through. Echberg sprawls well. Echberg gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Echberg successfully pulls guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Echberg holds on and takes a little breather. Jackson won't allow Echberg to sweep him here. Echberg wriggles free and stands up. Echberg fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jackson, pushing him back against the cage. Jackson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Echberg smiles and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Echberg fails to land. Jackson wants to break free but Echberg has control.
Echberg throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jackson blocks it with crossed arms. Echberg jumps guard but Jackson stands there with Echberg around his waist. Echberg gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Echberg turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Echberg working the head with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Echberg advances nicely into full mount. Jackson is in a horrible position here. Echberg smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ronnie Echberg just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Echberg's waist but Echberg gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dre Jackson. Jackson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Echberg shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side. Echberg throws a push kick but Jackson slaps the foot to one side. Echberg avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Echberg slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Jackson. Echberg stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jackson to get to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Echberg avoids a kick to the body.

Echberg tries to clinch up. Jackson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Jackson has his takedown stuffed and Echberg counters by moving into the clinch. Jackson fails to pull guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Echberg swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jackson trying to control but Echberg is working from the bottom. Echberg is controlling Jackson's posture. Echberg bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.

Echberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Echberg stands up and waves to Jackson to follow him. Jackson gets caught flat footed, as Echberg shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Echberg slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Echberg decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Echberg moves into the clinch. Echberg avoiding damage as Jackson throws knees to the body.

Jackson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Echberg is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jackson to the mat. Jackson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Echberg is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Echberg decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Jackson is looking to clinch. Echberg gets off balance looking for a body kick letting Jackson counter with a right hand. Echberg decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Jackson wants to improve his position but Echberg is controlling well.
Echberg works his way into full mount! Jackson tries to hold on but Echberg postures up. Echberg dominating with strikes here. Echberg has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Echberg content just to control the position here. Echberg working away from the top, dropping strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Echberg is landing with some decent strikes but Jackson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Echberg with shots to the head and body - Jackson looks very uncomfortable down there. Echberg controlling the position easily from mount. Jackson throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ronnie Echberg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Echberg tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard. Jackson keeping moving, preventing Echberg from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Echberg shoots and misses and Jackson counters with a two punch combo. Jackson throws a one two combo.

Echberg has a takedown stuffed. Dre Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Echberg. Echberg gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Echberg is trying to control the position but Jackson postures up. Let's see if Echberg can do anything to dispel that myth. Echberg had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jackson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Echberg Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jackson's back instead. Echberg keeps control of the position easily here as Jackson tries to buck him off.

Echberg is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Echberg has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Echberg prevents Jackson from improving his position. Jackson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Echberg scores with a couple of nice shots. Dre Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jackson is trying to get back to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Ronnie Echberg comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Echberg winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
