Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lans Hostek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and king kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lans Hostek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, king kong!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hostek throws a head kick that misses.
Hostek pushes kong up against the cage in a clinch.
kong looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
kong decides to pull guard.
Hostek stands up and waves to kong to follow him.
Hostek has managed to clinch.
Hostek breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Hostek counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in kong's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

kong controls Hostek momentarily but Hostek frees himself.
kong manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hostek is desperately trying to improve his position but kong has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hostek is wriggling around trying to escape.

kong goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hostek is on top in guard.

kong has his foot on Hostek's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hostek works his way back into a safe position though.

kong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Hostek counters with a thumping low kick.
kong wants to clinch but Hostek slips to the side
and Hostek counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Hostek is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and kong defends it well.

Hostek drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and kong dives on top into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
kong is trying to work for a kimura but Hostek is defending well.
Hostek wants to control but kong is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hostek is looking for a sweep. kong is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Hostek counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in kong's guard now.
Hostek won't allow kong to sweep him here.
Hostek wants to pass the guard but kong is keeping the position.
kong is trying to control the position but Hostek postures up.
Hostek might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hostek postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! kong is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hostek, into his guard.

Lans Hostek overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

kong got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hostek has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, kong has managed to get both his arms back between Hostek's legs - danger averted.

kong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hostek manages to get himself to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

kong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hostek does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
kong is stalling here. Hostek is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! kong seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hostek has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lans Hostek.
Well Hostek has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
