Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chopper Reid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cookie Monster!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Monster.
Reid misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Reid jabs Monster right on the nose. Monster blinks but takes it well.


It looks like Cookie Monster has been cut.
Monster has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Monster there as he acknowledges the shot.
Reid with a poor takedown

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Monster tries for a kimura but Reid is defending well.
Reid knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Monster on the ground.

Monster looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Reid is avoiding damage well.
Monster creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Reid tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Monster wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Monster thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Monster working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Monster lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Reid down.
Reid on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Reid tries to get out of the position.
Monster tries to score with some ground and pound. Reid controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Monster creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Reid sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Reid managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Monster.

Monster is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Reid has escaped the position, nice work there.
Monster looks gassed!
Reid struggling a bit here.

Reid is looking for a sweep.

Monster cracks Reid with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Monster tries to score with some ground and pound. Reid controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Monster tries for a kimura but Reid is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Monster tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Monster has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Reid darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Monster has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Monster working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reid doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reid manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Monster working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reid doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Monster is tightening it up a little... Reid has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Reid reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Reid taps out! nice BJJ there by Monster!
