The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swansgold stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Swansgold wants it to stay on the feet.

torres takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
torres working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

torres is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Swansgold defends it well.

You get the feeling that Swansgold really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Swansgold is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
torres cracks Swansgold with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Swansgold pushes torres away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, torres gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

torres lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
