Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paolo Goala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Zenin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vladimir Zenin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paolo Goala! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Zenin! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goala closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Goala advances nicely into full mount. Goala prevents Zenin from getting the reversal. Zenin regains half guard. Goala is keen to just control but Zenin is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zenin wants to improve his position but Goala is controlling well.
Goala will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Goala is nestled in close to Zenin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Goala trying to control the action but Zenin is working from the bottom. Goala throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Zenin tries to get to full guard but Goala has control of the leg. Goala wants to stand up but Zenin has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Zenin stuffs the takedown. Goala looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Goala. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paolo Goala. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zenin stuffs the takedown. Paolo Goala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Goala is breathing heavily. Goala fails with the takedown. Zenin looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Goala keeping moving, preventing Zenin from controlling successfully. Zenin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zenin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Goala can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Zenin controls the pace. Goala is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zenin trying to control the position from guard on top but Goala is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zenin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Zenin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Zenin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Goala misses with a takedown attempt and Zenin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Goala won't be happy with that. Zenin is looking to take a break and control but Goala is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Goala sneaks back into half guard. Zenin is trying to work for a kimura but Goala is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goala is controlling Zenin's position as best he can from this difficult position. Goala works his way to full guard. Good work. Goala looking to control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Goala is on top in guard.
Goala trying to control but Zenin is working from the bottom. Zenin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Goala controls the pace. Zenin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Goala can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Goala trying to control but Zenin is working from the bottom. Goala sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Paolo Goala just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Goala bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Goala tries to move into full mount but can't pass Zenin's legs. Zenin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Zenin is staying active underneath Goala, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Zenin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Zenin. Goala is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Zenin has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Goala is looking to defend but Zenin has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Goala! Zenin pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Goala taps out and this one is all over!
