Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daton Everlast! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aleks Ijeski! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ijeski fails in his attempt to clinch. Everlast missing with a left hand there. Ijeski was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Everlast lands with a nice body punch. An inside leg kick from Ijeski misses. Everlast cracks Ijeski with a good jab. Ijeski avoids the head kick by Everlast.
Aleks Ijeski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Everlast swats away the attempt to clinch by Ijeski. Ijeski shoots in but no luck this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Everlast lands a right hook to the body.
Ijeski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Everlast pinned against the cage. Everlast gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ijeski throws a half hearted mid kick.

Everlast misses with a body shot.
Ijeski closes the distance and clinches up with Everlast, looking for a takedown. Ijeski pushes Everlast against the cage but Everlast circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Daton Everlast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleks Ijeski. Everlast scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Everlast throws a shot to the body.
Ijeski closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Everlast tries for a takedown. No joy.
Everlast has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ijeski avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Everlast is trying to drag Ijeski to the mat but Ijeski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Everlast drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ijeski pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ijeski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ijeski shoots for a double leg takedown but Everlast sprawls well. He's pushed Ijeski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Everlast leaves Ijeski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ijeski shoots in looking for a takedown. Everlast tries to sprawl out of it but Ijeski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Everlast manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ijeski tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ijeski tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Everlast was well out of range. Poor timing from Ijeski. Ijeski fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ijeski lands a nice looking kick to the body. Everlast takes a step back to recover. Ijeski misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ijeski tries to clinch up. Everlast tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Everlast slaps away a takedown attempt from Ijeski, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ijeski looks gassed! Ijeski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ijeski scores with a takedown into Everlast's guard. Everlast wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Daton Everlast will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Everlast scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ijeski doesn't seem bothered though. Ijeski fails with an attempt to clinch.
Everlast fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ijeski looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Ijeski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Everlast sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ijeski somewhat. Ijeski misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Everlast counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Ijeski takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ijeski with a poor takedown and Everlast counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ijeski closes the distance but Everlast moves to the side and Everlast counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Ijeski is breathing heavily.

Everlast is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Everlast swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ijeski. Ijeski with a poor takedown and Everlast counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Daton Everlast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Ijeski clinches but Everlast breaks the clinch and Everlast counters with a right hand to the body. Everlast scores with a jab. Left hook, right uppercut from Everlast. Ijeski lands a body shot.

Everlast lands a nice hook to Ijeski's body. Ijeski takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ijeski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Ijeski shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ijeski takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ijeski is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Everlast. Ijeski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ijeski fails with the takedown and Everlast counters with a left to the body.

Ijeski wants to clinch and Everlast counters with a nice body shot. Good standup being displayed there by Everlast as he connects with a hook. Daton Everlast is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Everlast rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ijeski moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Ijeski clinches but Everlast breaks the clinch and Everlast counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Ijeski takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Everlast connects with a body shot. Everlast looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ijeski! Everlast controlling his opponent. Ijeski is looking to improve his position but Everlast isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Everlast looking to control and managing it successfully. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ijeski bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Everlast utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Everlast is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ijeski is fighting to break Everlast's control of his arms but Everlast is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Aleks Ijeski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Daton Everlast showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Everlast, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
