Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Janis Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gonz bongard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa tries to close the distance and clinch but bongard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice body kick from Costa.
bongard throws a leg kick but Costa sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Costa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but bongard moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Costa stuffs the takedown attempt from bongard. bongard gets slowly back to his feet.
Costa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Costa advances to full mount.
bongard tries to lock up and control but Costa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Costa counters with a nice low kick that buckles bongard's knee momentarily.
Costa tries to clinch but bongard is having none of it.
Costa misses with a double jab
and bongard cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
bongard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Costa swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gonz bongard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!
bongard closes the distance and clinches up with Costa, looking for a takedown. bongard pushes Costa against the cage but Costa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
bongard lands a nice hook to Costa's body. Costa takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Costa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
bongard takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
bongard shoots in and drives through. Costa sprawls well.

bongard looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Costa is fending him off so far but bongard persists. Nope, Costa circles away and we're back to standing.

bongard is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Costa is trying to escape and bongard transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Costa is forced to tap! Nice work there by bongard! Very nice indeed!
