The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sims looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sims fails to land the takedown.
Powers shoots for a double leg takedown but Sims sprawls well. He's pushed Powers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sims shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Powers sprawls well. Powers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sims gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Sims. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Powers misses with a jab, cross combination.
Powers lands a nice shot that snaps Sims's head back.
It looks like David Sims has been cut.
David Sims seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sims shoots and misses
and Powers counters with a nice right hand that sends Sims toppling to the canvas! Sims scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Powers finish him?!
Sims is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Powers fails to land with a series of punches.
Sims throws a left and a right that both miss
and Powers counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Sims to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Powers!
