Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Deal Damatter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Bear told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deal Damatter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Bear! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Damatter slips a jab and a cross from Bear.
Bear throws a leg kick but Damatter checks it. Damatter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bear is fending him off so far but Damatter persists. Nope, Bear circles away and we're back to standing. Damatter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bear circles away. Damatter checks the leg kick. Damatter misses with a straight left. A nice leg kick lands there from Bear. Bear misses with a body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Damatter. Bear does a little dance to reset his feet. Bear gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Damatter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Bear keeping moving, preventing Damatter from controlling successfully. Damatter prevents Bear from getting back to his feet.

and Bear counters with a nice uppercut. Damatter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bear counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deal Damatter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Damatter misses with a takedown and Bear counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Damatter is breathing heavily. Bear closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Damatter is trying to get back to full guard. Bear looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Damatter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bear throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bear is thwarting Damatter's attempts to control the position. Bear is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Bear lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Bear missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bear wants to stand up but Damatter is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bear is looking for a kimura here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Damatter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bear can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bear lands a couple of digs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bear cracks Damatter with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Bear showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Damatter.
Bear moves out of range of the strikes. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Damatter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bear was covering up waiting for the punch and Damatter finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Damatter stops Bear from standing up. Bear is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Damatter is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bear is keeping busy. Damatter tries a body shot but Bear blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bear lands with a nice body punch. Bear misses with the combination.

Damatter misses with a looping left. Bear shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bear showed some decent athleticism there. Bear looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Damatter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Damatter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bear is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Damatter looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Bear is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Damatter doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bear. Bear takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Bear scoring with strikes to the body and head. Damatter regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bear. Bear tries to stand but Damatter is controlling from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Damatter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bear. Damatter is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Bear trying to control but Damatter is working from the bottom. Bear has gone for a leg lock! Damatter slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bear's guard. Bear is looking to stand up but Damatter isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Bear showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
A head kick by Damatter misses and Bear counters with a three punch combo that has Damatter backing up. Damatter nods at Bear to acknowledge the strikes. Bear tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. John Bear seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bear walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Damatter checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Bear throws a leg kick and Damatter counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bear's guard now. Bear wants to stand but Damatter is controlling the position. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Bear. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Damatter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bear takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Damatter trying to control the position from guard on top but Bear is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Damatter tries to free his leg and advance position but Bear is retaining full guard. Bear can't keep his opponent in guard - Damatter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Bear is looking to escape.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bear throws a leg kick but Damatter sees it coming and checks it nicely. Bear fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Damatter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. John Bear is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Damatter thows a huge punch but Bear dodges it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Damatter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bear counters with a slapping leg kick. Damatter misses with a series of wild punches.
Bear throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Bear slips a jab from Damatter. Bear connects with a good right hand that stumbles Damatter. Damatter circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Damatter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bear napping and manages to drive through into side control! Bear is trying to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Damatter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bear knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Damatter prevents Bear from escaping the position. Deal Damatter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Damatter misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Damatter throws a strike aimed at the side of Bear's head but Bear avoids it well. Damatter looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that's the end of the fight! Deal Damatter showed his dominance in that final round. I think Bear has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
