Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug DeSouza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Walters!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeSouza scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
DeSouza lands with an uppercut that bounces Walters off the cage and back into rage.


It looks like Jeremy Walters has been cut.
DeSouza throws a shot from downtown. Walters moves away and avoids it.
Doug DeSouza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walters uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from DeSouza.

DeSouza shoots in and bounces Walters off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Walters can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as DeSouza controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
DeSouza with a nice head shot there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
DeSouza is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

DeSouza postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Walters is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of DeSouza, into his guard.
DeSouza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as DeSouza holds on and takes a little breather.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walters trying to control the position from guard on top but DeSouza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
DeSouza controlling the position.
Walters pushes down on DeSouza's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Walters is sneakily working for an arm triangle but DeSouza sees it coming and defends easily.
Walters tries to pass to full mount but DeSouza defends it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
DeSouza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
DeSouza is looking to control Walters's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can DeSouza avoid being mounted?
Walters wants to take a breather but DeSouza is having none of it.
DeSouza moves into full guard.
DeSouza is pulling down on Walters's head to control his posture.
DeSouza is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
DeSouza is really struggling to control Walters but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Doug DeSouza just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Walters on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

DeSouza closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Walters to the mat! Walters manages to get full guard.
DeSouza trying to control but Walters is working from the bottom.
DeSouza pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walters is keeping the position for now.

Walters is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Walters has his foot on DeSouza's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. DeSouza works his way back into a safe position though.
DeSouza trying to control the position from guard on top but Walters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
DeSouza controls from within his opponent's guard.

Walters looking for subs off his back but DeSouza has passed one foot through into half guard.
DeSouza is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doug DeSouza dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jeremy Walters's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


DeSouza with a hook.
Walters shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and DeSouza counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
No joy there for DeSouza, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Walters misses with a takedown attempt

and DeSouza counters with a nice right hand that sends Walters toppling to the canvas! Walters scrambles and gets back to his feet - can DeSouza finish him?!


Walters is rocked!
DeSouza misses with a double jab.
Walters is still on wobbly legs! Can DeSouza finish him?
Walters doesn't succeed with the takedown
and DeSouza counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Walters falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Doug DeSouza!
