PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Crappler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cory Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Steel's choice of entrance music: Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn . Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Crappler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cory Steel! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel throws a hook but Crappler blocks it. Crappler keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Steel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Crappler sprawls well. Crappler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steel gets slowly back to his feet. Crappler clinches. Steel can't find room to land a body shot as Crappler controls the action.
Steel being controlled against the cage. Steel can't break the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Crappler. A head punch blocked on the inside by Steel. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A short right from Crappler. Steel tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Crappler just stands there and leans against the cage. Crappler taking a breather. Nice body punch from Crappler - that landed with a thud.
Steel is fighting off a takedown attempt but Crappler is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Steel to the mat. Steel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel keeping full guard, as Crappler tries to pass. Crappler is working hard here to advance position. Steel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crappler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Steel wants to sweep but no luck. Crappler tries to free his leg and advance position but Steel is retaining full guard. Crappler passes into half guard. Crappler passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Steel! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steel is looking to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Crappler lands a big elbow. Steel tries to hold on but Crappler pushes him away. Steel is in all sorts of trouble here.
Crappler dominating with strikes here. Crappler is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Steel can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Crappler landing shots from mount. Steel tries to reverse the position but Crappler maintains control. Crappler landing shots from mount. Steel tries to get back to half guard but can't. Steel tries to hold on but Crappler postures up. Steel is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crappler lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Steel hang on? Crappler wants to finish this one by submission but Steel is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Crappler. Crappler prevents Steel from getting the reversal. Crappler punishing his opponent with strikes. Steel is looking to improve his position but Crappler isn't that keen on the idea. Crappler working away from the top, dropping strikes. Steel really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Crappler wants to control the pace but Steel is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Crappler putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Steel tries to reverse the position but Crappler maintains control. Steel tries to lock up and control but Crappler gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Steel tries to get back to half guard but can't. Crappler with the ground and pound from mount. Crappler looking to finish Steel with some ground and pound. This is bad for Steel! Steel is wriggling around trying to escape.
Crappler scoring with strikes but Steel is staying in there. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Crappler cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Steel sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Crappler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Steel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
King Crappler dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Steel drives through with a takedown into guard. Steel passes into half guard. Steel working over Crappler with some ground and pound. Crappler looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steel trying to control the action but Crappler is working from the bottom. Crappler taking some punishment here, with Steel in his half guard. Crappler is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Steel scores with a couple of nice shots. Steel is trying to control. Crappler wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel slips a nice elbow through Crappler's hands, connecting with Crappler's forehead. Crappler is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Steel wants to take a breather but Crappler is having none of it. Steel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Steel is looking to take a break and control but Crappler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Crappler moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Steel is in close to Crappler's body, working some short punches and elbows. Steel working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Steel throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Crappler looking for a triangle here. Steel is fighting it but it looks tight! Crappler pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Steel is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). King Crappler!
