Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Tate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Sampson! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate throws a jab but it's blocked by Sampson. Sampson closes the distance and clinches. Tate looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Tate breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sampson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tate tries to avoid it but Sampson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tate to the ground. Tate escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sampson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Tate lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Sampson is looking to chop away at Tate's legs. Tate looks to land a right hand but Sampson moved out of range. Tate lands a jab to the nose. A swing and a miss from Tate. Jon Tate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tate looks for a takedown but Sampson sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sampson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Sampson swings away with a leg kick that misses. Sampson jabs Tate right on the nose. Tate blinks but takes it well. Tate shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Tate breaks from Sampson's wrist control and lands an elbow. Tate looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sampson can't escape the position.
Tate thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sampson tries to hold on but Tate pushes him away. Tate controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tate is landing with some decent strikes but Sampson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Tate dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Tate stalks Sampson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sampson's face. Sampson staggers backwards, shaken. Tate misses with a takedown and Sampson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Tate digs a good hook to Sampson's body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sampson.
Nice jab there from Tate. Tate connects with a nice looking jab.
Tate looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sampson! Tate in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate content just to control the position here. Sampson tries to hold on but Tate postures up. Tate thowing shots but they're missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sampson is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sampson wants to control but Tate is having none of it. Tate looking to finish with strikes here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sampson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tate tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tate has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Sampson is squirming around, avoiding Tate's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Tate dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Tate waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sampson. Sampson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Sampson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Sampson moves out of range of the strikes. A jab from Tate finds it's way through Sampson's defenses. A head kick misses from Sampson. No joy there for Sampson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sampson throws a body kick that misses. Tate shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Sampson. Tate uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sampson has time to react. The fighters circle momentarily. Tate darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Tate works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Sampson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sampson misses with a low kick. Tate throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Sampson wants to clinch up but Tate keeps it at a distance. Sampson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Tate is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tate, as that shot connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate digs a good hook to Sampson's body.
Tate shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tate showed some decent athleticism there. Sampson is looking to control Tate's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sampson avoid being mounted? Tate controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate is trying to control. Sampson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Tate stalling. Steve Sampson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sampson is pressing down on Tate's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Tate showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tate, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
