Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Sparks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fejha Kurko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sparks comes to the cage accompanied by Survivor - Glen. Fejha Kurko has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jimmy Sparks's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Sparks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fejha Kurko!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kurko.
Kurko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sparks pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kurko.
Kurko looks for the body kick but Sparks saw that one coming.
Sparks throws a lazy right hand but Kurko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
No joy there for Sparks, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sparks has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Kurko throws a leg kick which misses Sparks's front leg but catches the back leg as Sparks tries to avoid it.
Nice uppercut lands for Kurko. That snapped Sparks's head back.

and Kurko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kurko.

Kurko throws a strike but Sparks rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sparks trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kurko's guard.
Kurko wants to sweep here but Sparks controlling him for the moment.

and Kurko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Kurko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kurko should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Sparks has his feet on Kurko's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Kurko lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sparks backs up against the cage.
Sparks throws a solid leg kick but Kurko takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Sparks.

and Kurko counters with a series of strikes. Sparks will be more careful next time no doubt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Kurko counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Kurko gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sparks.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kurko goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sparks prevents it.

The referee is keeping an eye on Sparks - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Kurko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sparks was covering up waiting for the punch and Kurko finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sparks breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sparks throws a right and a left that both miss.

Kurko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kurko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sparks really wants to buck Kurko off and get back to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Sparks looks to throw the jab but Kurko is out of range.

so Kurko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sparks has momentary wrist control but Kurko slips an elbow through the middle.

Sparks wants to hit a switch here but Kurko passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sparks there!
Sparks is desperately trying to improve his position but Kurko has a good base and remains in mount.
Sparks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kurko on the ground.

Sparks sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Kurko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
