Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brass Mckill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donald Cerrone! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mckill is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cerrone. Cerrone looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Mckill avoids the head kick by Cerrone.
Cerrone defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mckill. Mckill shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mckill fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brass Mckill. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mckill feints and as Cerrone raises his hands in defense, Mckill changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Cerrone not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Cerrone's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mckill shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cerrone as he jumps to the side. Cerrone gets caught flat footed, as Mckill shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cerrone cracks the inside of Mckill's front leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mckill shoots in for a takedown but Cerrone shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Cerrone closes the distance and clinches. Mckill tries for a takedown. No joy.
Cerrone manages to break the clinch.
Cerrone leaves Mckill with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Cerrone is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mckill. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brass Mckill will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mckill is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Cerrone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mckill thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mckill looking to pass the guard. Mckill drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mckill jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mckill is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cerrone is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cerrone has escaped and now he's on top! Mckill keeping moving, preventing Cerrone from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cerrone is looking to work some ground and pound but Mckill has wrist control. Cerrone pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mckill is keeping the position for now. Cerrone looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Mckill working for a triangle but Cerrone defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cerrone wants to control from the top but Mckill keeps moving. Mckill is looking for a triangle but Cerrone pushes his legs off easily.
Cerrone postures up in Mckill's guard and throws a big left but Mckill blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cerrone is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cerrone lands a couple of elbows. Mckill can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cerrone controls the pace. Mckill is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cerrone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mckill looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mckill working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cerrone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cerrone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Brass Mckill will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Cerrone pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mckill will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A bone on bone clash there as Mckill blocks the leg kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cerrone slaps away a takedown attempt from Mckill, before circling back to the center of the mat. Cerrone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mckill swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mckill fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brass Mckill. That's going to take a lot out of him. A head kick misses from Cerrone. A head kick misses from Cerrone.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Nice takedown defense from Cerrone. No joy for Mckill on that attempt. Cerrone dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mckill. That did some damage! Cerrone pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mckill shoots in but Cerrone avoids the takedown attempt easily. Cerrone throws a head kick that misses.

Mckill looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mckill is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Cerrone has managed to free his arm - good work. Cerrone is trying to get back to full guard. Brass Mckill is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mckill seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cerrone does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Mckill performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Donald Cerrone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cerrone actively working from the bottom here.
And that's the end of the fight! Brass Mckill showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mckill, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
