Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Albert Spackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cornelius Lycett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cornelius Lycett is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Albert Spackman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cornelius Lycett!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spackman tries to clinch but Lycett moves out of range.
Spackman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Spackman is defended easily by Lycett.

Lycett feints and as Spackman raises his hands in defense, Lycett changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lycett showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Spackman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lycett is in close to Spackman's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Spackman had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lycett is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Spackman Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lycett's back instead.

Lycett's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Spackman's hands.
Spackman trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Lycett just trying to survive but Spackman is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Lycett wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lycett turns into Spackman and is now in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cornelius Lycett just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Spackman throws a one two combo.

Spackman is bucking up trying to escape but Lycett cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's time! Spackman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Spackman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lycett manages to avoid it.

and Lycett counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Spackman's guard now.
Lycett postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lycett drops back looking for a leg! Spackman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spackman manages to kick Lycett off! Lycett jumps back into Spackman's guard.
Lycett tries to free his leg and advance position but Spackman is retaining full guard.
Lycett is breathing heavily.

Lycett working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Spackman's head.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A left and a right from Spackman both land. Nice combination.

and Lycett counters with a nice double leg into side control. Spackman won't be happy with that.

Spackman tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Lycett is looking to take a break and control but Spackman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cornelius Lycett has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lycett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lycett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Spackman leaves Lycett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Spackman shoots in but no luck this time.

Spackman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lycett but Lycett pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Lycett counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lycett.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lycett stops Spackman from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lycett prevents Spackman from improving his position.
Lycett has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Spackman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lycett is working away from the top position though.
Lycett looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Spackman is trying to stand up here but Lycett is controlling him well.

Cornelius Lycett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lycett has closed the distance and engaged Spackman in a clinch.

Spackman manages to break the clinch.
Lycett shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Spackman sprawls well. Spackman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lycett gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spackman goes for a takedown attempt but Lycett pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Lycett counters with a single leg into guard. Spackman didn't expect that.

Spackman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lycett is controlling him.

Lycett seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Spackman is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
