Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacky Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacky Gibson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibson shoots for a double leg takedown but Coleman sprawls well. He's pushed Gibson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Coleman closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gibson did well to prevent Coleman getting side control.
Gibson tries to roll over but Coleman keeps him under control.
Coleman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Coleman wants to pass the guard but Gibson is defending well.
Gibson regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Coleman.

Coleman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gibson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Coleman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Coleman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gibson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coleman wants to stand up but Gibson is controlling him.
Coleman is looking to sweep but instead, Gibson has passed into half guard.
Gibson stops Coleman from getting back to his feet.
Gibson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gibson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coleman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Coleman tries to clinch up.
Coleman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gibson as he jumps to the side.

and Coleman counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Coleman wants to pass to mount but Gibson is defending the position.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Coleman. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Coleman is nestled in close to Gibson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Coleman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gibson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Coleman.

Gibson is in a horrible position here. Coleman smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

It looks like Jacky Gibson has been cut.
Coleman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gibson is looking to escape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coleman working for a submission but Gibson is keeping him at bay.
Coleman pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Coleman lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mark Coleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Coleman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
