Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Welch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marvin Welch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Stone! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone closes the distance and clinches up with Welch, looking for a takedown. Stone pushes Welch against the cage but Welch circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Welch fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Welch tries to keep at a distance but Stone has taken the fight into the clinch. Welch letting Stone take a breather here. Stone using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Stone has picked Welch up - he's going for a ride! Stone dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Stone is trying to control. Welch wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Welch gets full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Welch throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stone thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Stone is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Welch keeping moving, preventing Stone from controlling successfully. Stone preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone landing with the ground and pound. Welch looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stone is one step ahead there. Stone drops back, looking for a kneebar! Welch looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Welch looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Welch! Welch in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Welch lands a decent elbow from side control. Welch wants to control but Stone is keeping him busy. Welch lands a few punches from side control. Welch looking to control but instead Stone has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Welch seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stone does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Welch looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Stone tries to get to full guard but Welch has control of the leg. Stone makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Stone. Stone throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Welch stopping the sweep attempt from Stone. Stone is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Welch trying to control but Stone is working from the bottom. Welch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Welch lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Stone throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Welch connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Welch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Stone looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Welch throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Stone takes one to the side of the head.
A lazy left from Welch finds it's target. Stone has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Welch, as that shot connected.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Welch misses with a combination
and Stone counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Stone. Welch wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Stone drops down looking for an ankle pick but Welch pulls his leg out and moves away.
Marvin Welch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Stone. Nice defenses there by Stone. Welch connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stone. Stone circles away out of range and recomposes himself. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stone shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Welch sprawls well. Welch wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stone gets slowly back to his feet. Stone shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Stone looks gassed! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Welch wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marvin Welch dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Stone shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stone was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Welch is desperately trying to improve his position but Stone has a good base and remains in mount. Stone misses with a head shot. Welch wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Stone.
Stone looking for a guillotine from mount but Welch is having none of it. Stone looking to secure an arm triangle but Welch defends it well. Welch is wriggling around trying to escape.
Stone is breathing heavily. Stone looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Welch is trying to reverse the position but instead Stone has taken his back - oops! Stone is landing with strikes from the back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone not allowing Welch to control his hands. Stone looking for the choke but no joy. Stone is not going to allow Welch to sit and survive in this position. Welch surviving as best he can, preventing damage. Stone is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Welch is defending well though. Stone let's go of the attempt for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Stone is trying to stick to Welch's back but Welch is turning into Stone. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Stone's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Welch. Stone working for a triangle but Welch defends it easily.
Welch wants to control from the top but Stone keeps moving. Welch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Welch lands a couple of elbows. Stone has his feet on Welch's thighs here. He's pushed Welch off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Welch screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
