PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Creed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masa Krator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Creed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Masa Krator!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krator misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Creed moves out of range of the body kick from Krator.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Krator.
Creed leaves Krator with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Krator shoots in looking for a takedown. Creed tries to sprawl out of it but Krator keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Creed manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jason Creed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Masa Krator.
Creed takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Krator.

Krator rushes Creed and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Krator manages to pull guard.
Creed pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Krator is keeping the position for now.
Krator looking for a sweep. Not yet Krator, not yet.
Creed passes into half guard.
Krator moves into full guard.
Creed stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Krator swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Krator lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Creed!
Creed is trying desperately to improve position.
Creed sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Krator wants to lay and pray for a moment but Creed keeps working.
Creed keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Creed wants to get back to full guard but Krator has passed into side control.

Krator is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Creed has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Creed!

Creed drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Krator dives on top into guard.

Creed looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Krator passes into side control.
Creed tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Krator wants to lay and pray for a moment but Creed keeps working.
Krator cracks Creed with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Krator is working Creed over with some ground and pound from side control.
Creed is trying to get back to half guard.
Krator trying to control the position but Creed is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masa Krator dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A good leg kick by Krator.
Krator shoots in looking for a takedown. Creed tries to sprawl out of it but Krator keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Creed manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Creed keeps the fight on the outside.

Creed throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Krator was covering up waiting for the punch and Creed finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Creed is looking to advance position but Krator has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Creed wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Krator is trying to stick to Creed's back but Creed is turning into Krator. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Krator's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Creed.
Creed pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Krator is keeping the position for now.

Creed avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Creed drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Krator dives on top into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Creed is working hard here to advance position.

Creed had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Krator is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Creed Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Krator's back instead.

Krator is having to fend off submission attempts from Creed, who is looking to sink in the choke. Creed doesn't have the hooks in though and Krator manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Krator wants to pass the guard but Creed is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Krator is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Creed keeping moving, preventing Krator from controlling successfully.
Creed lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Krator!

Creed moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Krator has worked his arm free - good work by Krator!
Krator sneaks back into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Krator looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Creed wants to pass to mount but Krator is defending the position.

Creed is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Creed is trying to work for a kimura but Krator is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Masa Krator will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Creed with a lazy takedown attempt

and Krator counters with a nice double leg into side control. Creed won't be happy with that.

Krator looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Creed is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Krator controlling the pace.
Creed is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Krator is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Krator takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Creed looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Krator throwing shots but Creed is blocking nicely.

Creed keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Creed is looking to improve his position.
Krator trying to control the action but Creed is working from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Creed is looking to improve his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Krator tries to clinch there but Creed circles away.
Krator misses with a takedown attempt

and Creed counters with a single leg into guard. Krator didn't expect that.
Creed stops Krator from standing up.
Krator is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Creed dives into side control.

Creed is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Krator is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Jason Creed has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Masa Krator is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Creed wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Krator, who protects the arm well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Masa Krator comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Krator has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
