Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lonnie Lee Badrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Barrister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Badrick comes to the cage accompanied by The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Theme. Dave Barrister is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lonnie Lee Badrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Barrister! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Badrick dives in and grabs Barrister's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barrister pushes down on Badrick's head and hops out. Barrister circles away from the clinch attempt.
Badrick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Badrick misses with a body kick. Barrister should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Barrister fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Badrick, pushing him back against the cage. Barrister has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Badrick avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Barrister pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Badrick fails with a takedown attempt. Barrister looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Barrister on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Badrick. Badrick obviously looking to wear him down.
Badrick moves out of range of the body kick from Barrister.
A combination from Badrick does no damage. Badrick wants to clinch up but Barrister keeps it at a distance. Badrick takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Badrick misses with a takedown attempt and Barrister counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Badrick's guard now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lonnie Lee Badrick. That's going to take a lot out of him. This has been an exciting period of action! Barrister trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Barrister stopping the sweep attempt from Badrick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barrister working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Barrister thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Barrister has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Barrister trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Badrick is breathing heavily. Barrister trying to control but Badrick is working from the bottom. Badrick is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Barrister is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Barrister misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Badrick prevents Barrister from improving his position. Badrick is trying to control. Barrister wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Barrister tries to roll over but Badrick keeps him under control. Barrister is controlling Badrick's trapped leg to prevent Badrick from advancing to side control. Badrick thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Barrister's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Badrick is thwarting Barrister's attempts to control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Barrister tries to clinch there but Badrick circles away.
Badrick blocks a jab. Lonnie Lee Badrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barrister takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
It looks like Dave Barrister has been cut. Barrister tries to clinch but Badrick is having none of it. Barrister gets the takedown into side control. Badrick prevents Barrister from moving into mount. Barrister wants to stand but Badrick is controlling his arm. Barrister is trying to get an arm triangle but Badrick is defending well. Badrick is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barrister sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Badrick is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Badrick is looking to regain half guard here but Barrister keeps moving and retains side control. Barrister trying to control the position but Badrick is working away. Barrister is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Barrister moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Barrister dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dave Barrister's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Badrick chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Barrister can pounce on him.
Badrick gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Barrister is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Badrick keeps control of Barrister as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Barrister goes for a takedown attempt but Badrick pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Badrick shoots and misses and Barrister counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Badrick has his feet on Barrister's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Barrister is trying hard to land a takedown here. Badrick sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Badrick misses with a few strikes there.
Lonnie Lee Badrick is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Barrister scores with a push kick. Barrister fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Badrick sprawls well initially but Barrister persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Badrick is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Barrister wants to work for an arm triangle but Badrick is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Barrister wants to stand up but Badrick is controlling the position.
Badrick is pressing down on Barrister's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Barrister wants to control from the top but Badrick keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Badrick doesn't succeed with the takedown so Barrister counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Badrick pulls Barrister in close to prevent any damage. Badrick wants to stand but Barrister is controlling the position. Badrick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrister working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Badrick's head. Barrister pushing down on Badrick's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Barrister looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Badrick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Barrister not doing much here.
Barrister drops an elbow to the side of Badrick's head. It looks like Barrister is going to stand back up.
Dave Barrister has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Barrister is keen to just control but Badrick is a slippery customer. Barrister tries to stand and escape but Badrick is controlling the position. Badrick wants to control but Barrister is keeping busy and won't allow it. Barrister thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Badrick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Barrister throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Badrick's waist but Badrick gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barrister off to one side. Lonnie Lee Badrick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Barrister. Badrick has closed the distance and engaged Barrister in a clinch.
Barrister tries to pull guard but Badrick won't allow it.
Badrick has Barrister pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Badrick pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Barrister tumbling to the mat - Badrick dives into Barrister's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Badrick preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Barrister showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Dave Barrister's cut. That's time! Badrick's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
The fight stays on the outside here - Badrick looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Badrick keeps the fight on the outside. Barrister changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Badrick tries to avoid it but Barrister manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Badrick to the ground. Badrick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Barrister has eaten all the pies! Barrister tries for a takedown but Badrick sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Badrick bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Barrister tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Badrick with a couple of short strikes. Barrister is trying to reverse the position but instead Badrick has taken his back - oops! Badrick keeps control of the position easily here as Barrister tries to buck him off.
Badrick seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Barrister for as long as he can get away with. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Badrick content to control rather than advance. Barrister manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Barrister looking to control.
Barrister is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Barrister is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lonnie Lee Badrick has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dave Barrister is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barrister passes easily into side control. Nice work.
