Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitali Emeliananko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chruck Riddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chruck Riddel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Vitali Emeliananko! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chruck Riddel! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emeliananko fails with a takedown attempt. Riddel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Emeliananko. Emeliananko closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Emeliananko lands in his opponent's guard. Emeliananko has gone for a leg lock! Riddel slips out almost immediately though and dives into Emeliananko's guard. Riddel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emeliananko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Riddel wants to stand but Emeliananko has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Emeliananko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Riddel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Riddel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Emeliananko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Riddel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Riddel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emeliananko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Riddel trying to control but Emeliananko is working from the bottom. Riddel throwing strikes from guard but Emeliananko blocks nicely. Emeliananko is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Riddel is aware though and is defending well. Riddel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Emeliananko preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Riddel wanted to stand there but Emeliananko had control of the position. Riddel works a leg free and moves into half guard. Riddel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Emeliananko's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Riddel is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Riddel throwing shots but Emeliananko is blocking nicely. Riddel wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Emeliananko uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Riddel wants to get up but he can't break Emeliananko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Riddel stands up and waves to Emeliananko to follow him. Riddel fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A punch combination from Riddel misses. Emeliananko drops his hands momentarily and Riddel takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Riddel slaps away a takedown attempt from Emeliananko, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitali Emeliananko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Riddel tries to clinch but Emeliananko is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riddel wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Emeliananko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Riddel pinned against the cage. Riddel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Emeliananko is breathing heavily. Riddel tries to clinch but Emeliananko moves out of range. Riddel wants to clinch up but Emeliananko keeps it at a distance. Chruck Riddel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Emeliananko shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Riddel sprawls well. Riddel wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Emeliananko gets slowly back to his feet. Emeliananko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Riddel was covering up waiting for the punch and Emeliananko finishes the takedown easily into guard. Emelianankois looking to pass into half guard but Riddel pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Riddel is in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Riddel tries to stand but Emeliananko is controlling from the bottom. Riddel trying to control but Emeliananko is working from the bottom. Riddel wants to stand but Emeliananko is controlling his posture from full guard. Riddel lands a couple of elbows. Riddel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Riddel working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Emeliananko is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A close round but Chruck Riddel will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Emeliananko takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Nice sprawl there from Riddel as Emeliananko shoots in. Riddel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jab, jab by Riddel - just one landing. A cross from Riddel lands. Riddel catches Emeliananko napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Emeliananko to the canvas!
Emeliananko is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Riddel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Oh Emeliananko is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Emeliananko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Emeliananko has a closed guard, preventing Riddel from standing up. Emeliananko seems to have got his legs back now. Emeliananko throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Riddel stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's one minute gone in the round. Riddel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Emeliananko circles away quickly and effectively. Riddel tries to clinch but Emeliananko moves out of range. A punch lands to the side of Emeliananko 's head but he takes it in his stride. Riddel with a nice cross. Riddel walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Emeliananko drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Riddel swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Emeliananko's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chruck Riddel! Chruck Riddel is the new light heavyweight champion!
