The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Hammer looks to land a combination but McGuire avoids it well.
McGuire leaves The Hammer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McGuire fails with the takedown.
McGuire closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McGuire lands in his opponent's guard.
McGuire postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! The Hammer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McGuire, into his guard.
McGuire preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
McGuire is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The Hammer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McGuire works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
McGuire is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! The Hammer rolls with it to try and escape but McGuire cranks on the arm and The Hammer is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
