Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maxwell Pappin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacque Strope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacque Strope has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maxwell Pappin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacque Strope!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pappin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Strope looking to control but Pappin passes into half guard.
Pappin is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Strope trying to control but Pappin postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pappin with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pappin wants to free his trapped foot but Strope is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Strope is trying to maintain the position but Pappin is very close to passing his half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maxwell Pappin dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Pappin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Pappin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Strope's guard.
Pappin works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Strope tries to kick Pappin off in order to stand up. Pappin Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Pappin prevents Strope from escaping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pappin takes a little break here. Strope wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pappin advances to mount.
Strope is desperately trying to improve his position but Pappin has a good base and remains in mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pappin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Strope is trying to stand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pappin controlling his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Strope really wants to buck Pappin off and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maxwell Pappin dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Strope gets caught flat footed, as Pappin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Pappin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Maxwell Pappin just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Strope throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pappin slips a jab from Strope.
Maxwell Pappin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pappin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Strope sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Pappin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pappin controls the position.
Pappin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Strope for as long as he can get away with.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Strope is looking to reverse the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pappin taking a breather here.
Pappin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
Maxwell Pappin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pappin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
