The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunter throws a body kick that misses.
Mankiw misses with a body shot.
Hunter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mankiw.
Mankiw dips to his left and cracks Hunter with an uppercut!
Hunter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mankiw takes a swing at Hunter's ribcage but misses.
Mankiw avoids the head kick by Hunter.
Mankiw throws a leg kick which misses Hunter's front leg but catches the back leg as Hunter tries to avoid it.
Hunter pushes Mankiw away with a front kick.
Hunter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mankiw throws a low kick but Hunter avoids it.
Mankiw looks to land a combination but Hunter avoids it well.

Hunter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mankiw tries to avoid it but Hunter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mankiw to the ground. Mankiw escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Crunch! Hunter slams his shin into Mankiw's torso.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mankiw stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mankiw wants it to stay on the feet.
Gregory Mankiw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oren Hunter.

Mankiw takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
The fighters circling - Mankiw throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hunter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Hunter. Mankiw shrugs it off though.

and Hunter counters with a solid body kick.
Mankiw is breathing heavily.
Hunter lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mankiw's sensitive parts.
Mankiw is looking to chop away at Hunter's legs.
Hunter avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Mankiw takes a swing at Hunter's ribcage but misses.

Hunter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hunter feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mankiw's calf.
Mankiw takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Mankiw blocks a head kick by Hunter.
Mankiw throws out a loose jab but Hunter uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hunter throws a front kick that sends Mankiw stumbling back into the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hunter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hunter.
Hunter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mankiw takes a head kick and keeps coming.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mankiw throws a hook but Hunter blocks it.

Hunter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hunter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mankiw, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oren Hunter dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Hunter counters with a thumping low kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hunter, right into the meat.
Hunter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mankiw pinned against the cage. Mankiw gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mankiw throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hunter counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Hunter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mankiw sprawls well initially but Hunter persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hunter is looking for a kimura but Mankiw is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hunter to get the leverage.
Mankiw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hunter stops Mankiw from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mankiw had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hunter defends it easily.
Hunter forces his way into half guard.

Hunter has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mankiw defend it? Hunter steps over the head and cranks it - Mankiw is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hunter!
