Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Lytle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lytle kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Light's Out. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christopher Lytle! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Todd! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Todd shoots in for a takedown but Lytle shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lytle drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Lytle tries to free his leg and advance position but Todd is retaining full guard. Lytle content to stall in guard here. Lytle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Todd is keeping the position for now. Lytle trying to control the position from guard on top but Todd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lytle not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Lytle wants to control from the top but Todd keeps moving. Lytle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Todd has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lytle has managed to get both his arms back between Todd's legs - danger averted. Lytle postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Todd is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lytle, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lytle has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Todd is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lytle. Todd thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Todd is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lytle has escaped the position, nice work there. Todd working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lytle is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Todd's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The fighters roll with the hold and Lytle manages to kick Todd off! Todd jumps back into Lytle's guard. Todd is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Todd avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Todd thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Todd postures up in Lytle's guard and throws a big left but Lytle blocks it. Lytle throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Todd looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lytle! Lytle tries to hold on but Todd postures up. Todd looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Lytle slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Gary Todd will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lytle tries to close the distance and clinch up but Todd swats him away and circles back towards the center. Todd doesn't succeed with the takedown and Lytle counters with a nice uppercut. Todd tries for a takedown but Lytle circles away easily and Lytle counters with a single leg into guard. Todd didn't expect that. Todd is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lytle drops back, looking for a kneebar! Todd looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Todd looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Todd! Todd tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Todd has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Todd is breathing heavily.

Lytle tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Todd wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Lytle gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Todd is looking for a kimura but Lytle is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Todd to get the leverage. Todd blocks the strikes from Lytle.
Lytle is pressing down on Todd's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Lytle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Todd defends it easily. Todd trying to control but Lytle is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Todd drops back looking for a leg! Lytle is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lytle manages to kick Todd off! Todd jumps back into Lytle's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lytle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Todd can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Todd chips away with some ground and pound. Todd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lytle swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lytle is looking for a triangle but Todd pushes his legs off easily.

Todd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lytle looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lytle is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Todd's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Todd is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lytle is just riding it out for now. Todd eventually gives up the hold. Lytle actively working from the bottom here. Todd is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Christopher Lytle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Todd wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lytle, who protects the arm well. Lytle manages to get back to half guard. Todd is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lytle has managed to free his arm - good work. Lytle gets full guard. Lytle throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Todd drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Todd seems to have locked his on tight now - Lytle screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Todd, as he picks up the win!
