Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hunter Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Mason! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith swinging wilding here.
Smith misses with a two punch combination.
Smith misses with a body kick. A combination from Smith does no damage. Mason moves out of range of the body kick. Mason walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
It looks like Mark Mason has been cut. Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith drops Mason with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mason looks back up at him and smiles so Smith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Mason is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mason looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mason is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him? Smith throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mason counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Mason seems to have recovered his senses. Mason is working for a submission of some sort.
Mason wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mason passes the guard and advances to mount! Mason controlling from mount. Mason looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mason controlling his opponent. Smith tries to hold on but Mason postures up. Mason punching from mount but Smith doing a good job of avoiding damage. Smith is squirming around, avoiding Mason's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mason trying to control but Smith is having none of it. Mason controlling the position easily from mount.
Despite being in the dominant position, Mark Mason just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mason circles away quickly and effectively.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. A right-left combo lands from Smith. Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Smith lands a big right hand that sends Mason crashing to the mat! Smith stays standing though and waves Mason back to his feet! Mason slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
Smith looks to land a right hand but Mason moved out of range. The fight moves into the clinch position. Mason effectively controlling the action here. A frustrated look appears on Smith's face as he tries to break the clinch. Smith is trying to break free. Mason slows down the pace here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Smith working hard to break the clinch. Smith is trying to break the clinch but Mason has him pressed against the cage. Mason leaning against his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hunter Smith dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mark Mason's cut. That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Smith throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hunter Smith is winning the standup battle so far. Smith throws a left and a right that both miss
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Smith slaps away a takedown attempt from Mason, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mason shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily. Mason tests Smith's chin there with a solid looking shot. Hunter Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith misses with a combination
and Mason counters with a big head kick but Smith shrugs it off. Mason throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Smith throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mason counters by clinching up. Smith wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mason has him pressed against the cage. Mason looking for a takedown. Hunter Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Mason. Mason is pushing Smith up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Smith wants to get back to striking at distance but Mason won't allow it.
Mason keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Smith's efforts to push away. Mason is struggling to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mason pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Smith misses with a combination
and Mason counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Still in half guard, Mason seems content to control. Mason uses his free foot to push down on Smith's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Smith.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mason looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mason looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Mason wants to control the pace but Smith is squirming around nicely. Mason might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smith kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith wants to control but Mason is having none of it. Smith keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Mason content just to control the position here. Smith is squirming around, avoiding Mason's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mason swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Smith is now in Mason's guard. A big mistake from Mason there, giving up the dominant position! Smith won't allow Mason to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Mason showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Mark Mason's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Mason counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Smith's guard now. Mason trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith kicks Mason off and gets to his feet. Smith throws a combination that misses and Mason counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Smith! Smith has given up his back here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A bit of a pause in the action here. Mason controlling the positon.

Mason stalling away here and it's allowed Smith to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Mason looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mason trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Mason is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Smith lands with a big left! Mason is wobbled badly! Smith comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Mason to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Hunter Smith!
