Carlson wants to control but Gordon is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Gordon is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Carlson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Gordon stands up over Carlson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Gordon wants to control from the top but Carlson keeps moving.
Gordon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Flash Gordon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Carlson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Gordon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Gordon. No joy for Carlson on that attempt.
Flash Gordon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters circling a little - Gordon finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gordon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Carlson stands and steps away. Gordon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Carlson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gordon has managed to escape the submission attempt.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Gordon tries to buck Carlson off but he can't manage it.

Gordon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carlson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gordon has managed to get both his arms back between Carlson's legs - danger averted.

I think Gordon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
