Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ford wants to clinch.
Ford tries to clinch there but Okusaka circles away.
Okusaka keeps the fight on the outside.
Okusaka closes the distance and clinches up with Ford , looking for a takedown. Okusaka pushes Ford against the cage but Ford circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Okusaka stands and steps away. Ford gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Ford manages to get to full guard.
Okusaka advances to half guard.
Ford wants to get back to full guard.

Still in half guard, Okusaka seems content to control.

Okusaka stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Ford to get to his feet.
Okusaka tries for a takedown but Ford sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Okusaka. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Okusaka keeps the fight on the outside.
Okusaka has a takedown stuffed.
Ford tries to close the distance and clinch up but Okusaka swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Okusaka avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Okusaka has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ford on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Ford comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Richard Okusaka has been cut.

Okusaka could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ford lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Oh Okusaka is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


Richard Okusaka's cut is getting worse.
Okusaka misses with a hook from the clinch.
Okusaka is working for takedown but Ford is calmly controlling the position for now.
Okusaka seems to have got his legs back now.
Ford lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Ford tries to land a knee to the head but Okusaka blocks with his arms.
Ford goes for a takedown attempt but Okusaka pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Okusaka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Okusaka is taking a breather. Ford says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Okusaka seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ford for as long as he can get away with.
Okusaka is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ford !

Ford swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Okusaka tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Okusaka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Okusaka stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Okusaka closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ford throws an elbow that misses.
Ford lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


Jeez, Richard Okusaka's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Ford connects with a nasty looking knee right to Okusaka's face.
Ford misses with a knee strike.
Okusaka tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Okusaka is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ford is keeping busy.
Okusaka scores with a hook to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Okusaka misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ford .

Ford prevents Okusaka from breaking the clinch.
Ford lands an elbow inside.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Richard Okusaka's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
